Cycling two days in a row!

Yesterday’s ride was especially nice, in part because I had Saturday and Sunday to rest. The weather was perfect like Baby Bear’s porridge – not too hot, not too cold, but juuust right. Today’s weather is the same. It’s some kind of wonderful out there this time of year. Birds are everywhere. My legs were … [Read more…]

Love Turtle for Cami

Cami loves turtles. Before she left on her trip I started this design, but I didn’t have a chance to finish. She saw it has a black and white laser-printed line drawing. Now it’s got a bit of color. This might also look as a cutout in wood. I’ll keep working on it.

Hard-core cyclists are snobs

The weather is getting chilly in the mornings. I still wore my t-shirt and shorts, but I added a hoodie for good measure. The ride turned out nice, and there wasn’t any breeze. Quite a few people were out walking, and they almost always look and wave. Even the people in cars will wave. The … [Read more…]

She ran off and left me!

Cami is doing her annual “sisters retreat” with her sisters and sister-in-law. They are running around Phoenix this year, having the time of the lives. It’s a recipe for a boring weekend. I put in the paperwork for the new job. The start date will likely be the Monday after next. Moving isn’t my favorite … [Read more…]

Lucha Libre and New Brake Pads

Yesterday Cami’s brother replaced my worn out catalytic converter. It runs quietly now, and I won’t be getting as many strange looks. That’s a good thing. I’ve been worried about the brakes. They haven’t been squealing constantly, but I wanted to make sure the car is ready for whatever cross-country jaunts I might have to … [Read more…]

Wind and Colors

Today’s ride was windy, especially on the way back. I forgot to fill my water bottle and only had about a half cup to work with. I used it sparingly. The wind kept me from getting too hot on the way up, but my mouth was dry. I took a few sips of water as … [Read more…]

Engagement Pictures – link

We selected the pictures we liked best, which ended up being about forty. I hadn’t expected to have that many “keepers”. I put them into a gallery, and here is the link One of them is a composite of several images, and that is the one we plan to use for the actual announcement.

Hanging out with the family

Cami and I spent the evening in Bountiful. Kari and Marcus invited us to come for dinner. The whole family was there with all the nieces and nephews. The dogs stayed home. 🙂 We had a good time eating, and planning for the wedding. I’ve been trying to gather addresses for the announcement list. Cami … [Read more…]

Smelter Road on a bicycle – getting colder

Today the weather is clear and sunny, with not much of a breeze. It was really a nice ride up. I went 9.75 miles today, with an average speed of 12.9 and a top speed of 35.1. I forgot to watch the total time, but it was about 40 minutes. On the way up I … [Read more…]
