Saturday I was working on a website when Cami called to say she got invited to the zoo. I decided to come along. We went with Nate and Holli and their kids. The heat was intense at the zoo, and I thought for sure I would be sunburned. We managed to survive, and I didn’t even suffer for my lack of sunscreen – no burn at all.
Aside from the heat we had a great time walking around watching and smelling the animals. The box of dung beetles was educational. I never knew they were so shiny. The cluster of fruit bats was another highlight.
My poor camera could use a better lense. Luckily, the giraffe was cooperative. It came so close I could have touched it. Saturday night I went home and looked up camera lenses. I saw one for $540 (Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM) and another for $640 (Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM). It’s nice to dream.
Yesterday Cami and I went to Natalie’s birthday party. The families met in Bountiful at Kari’s place. The Navajo tacos were excellent and of course I ate too much. Natalie got some nice art supplies and a Bamboo graphics tablet, and I am anxious to see what she can do with it.
