I was in church and thinking of Cami. I decided to draw a turtle. Once I did the first turtle I thought I needed a second one and a third. Then I did a fish. I am out of control.

Some lessons are harder to learn than others. Getting burned on a hot stove takes one lesson. Getting burned by customers who are slow to pay, or don’t pay, can take a few more lessons. Cami loves turtles. Before she left on her trip I started this design, but I didn’t have a chance to finish. She saw it has a black and white laser-printed line drawing. Now it’s got a bit of color. This might also look as a cutout in wood. I’ll keep working on it.
I made this for Cami a while back. It was supposed to be for her birthday, but it wasn’t quite ready then. She sports it now on the back window of Esther. One of these days I will surprise her with a Tina graphic that goes from floor to ceiling in her bedroom. 🙂
This portrait is the first step in new direction for my scratchboard. In the past my level of finish has been quite a bit looser, with not so many fine lines. I’m pleased with how it turned out.
